Wes Onley (born John Wesley Onley) on March 8 in Baltimore, Maryland. Wes grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Wes plays guitar and bass and was greatly influenced by Slim Whitman, the late Bob Wills and Elton Britt. His music career started during his military service at the time of the Korean Conflict. Wes has performed in many states from Oklahoma to Tennessee. He has appeared at many clubs, concerts, opry shows, country music reviews, country jubilees, rodeos and round-up days stage shows, state fairs and entertained at many charitable events and activities. Wesley recorded for Sully Records (label of the late Gene Sullivan & writer of "When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold"). To all his fans Wes is known as the "Oklahoma Yodeler"... Wesley's latest release on Compo! Records, an album/CD titled "A Good Thing". Yodeling touches and harmonius duets with Yvonne DeVaney accompanied by award winning musicians; currently playing worldwide!!! |
